Customers can make a Credit Card payment by telephone, on this Web site, or when paying either inside or at the drive through window of the Albert Billingslea Headquarters Building on Second Street. The MWA now accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
Customer Care -- our Customer Service Department -- is the first contact between the Macon Water Authority (MWA) and the community. MWA customer service representatives normally are the first to be contacted for information regarding service, development involving utilities, spills and breaks. MWA customers also can take advantage of our Automated Credit Card Payment Option, which is a newly programmed credit card payment service that does not require the assistance of an MWA Customer Care Representative. In the spring of 2014, the Authority added a payment option by phone that is automated, and it is included within the existing MWA interactive voice response (IVR) system - what customers know as the recorded messages of customer service options. When calling and reviewing the prompts of the Authority's IVR, customers can press '5' to access the Billtrust Automated Payment System. From there, customers can check their balance, which is updated each day, as well as make a payment using a credit card or even a checking account number. This is yet another convenient option for MWA customers to pay their monthly water and sewer bills, even after hours. Customers can make a credit card payment - either through a Customer Care Representative during business hours or via the Automated Credit Card Payment Option after hours - by calling the Authority at 478-464-5600.
